Autobiography by Robert Fargo of his youth in the dairy farming community of Churchville, Conn., and in Genesee County, New York; his travel by train to Wisconsin in 1847; and his years in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, as a merchant, farmer, banker, and telegraph operator, and an 1885 trip by train to California; plus a historical sketch of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lake Mills, written by Fargo for the semi-centennial celebration.

From a small beginning in May 1932, the Methodist Crusaders Choir, then with 75 choristers, was hurriedly formed and made its first public appearance at the General Conference Meetings of the Methodist Church of Australasia. It is primarily a hymn-singing choir, and the devoted members feel that the main purpose in their coming together is to spread the gospel message of the Church by means of song.
